I'm in the same boat as you, and I'm thinking the same thing concerning the OP. I had to sell my laptop to pay bills.

sold my laptop as well. and it was nice.

just a few weeks ago i sold a really expensive home theatre projector i had. wanted to keep it but priorities man. phone needs to stay connected, and the projector rarely got used, so away it went.

Do a Google search for Reachout Wireless. I haven't looked into it myself, but my father in law uses it. If you're on "low income" you can get a cellphone plan for about $5 a month, and the phones are dirt cheap free too. You have to qualify for "Lifeline" which is something regular house phone service providers offer. You can only have it once at one address though, so either on your home, or on your cell. They just brought it out for California on cell phones

I know your pain, dude. People say it's so easy, go into the business, speak to managers, make follow up calls, etc etc. But no company operates like this any more. Every single job requires you to apply online. You have to fill out a 100-question questionnaire, they don't want CVs or resumes, they want their own webpage filled out, and each place's is formatted entirely differently and want completely different information.

It takes at least an hour to fill out an application correctly. My library only lets you log on for an hour at a time, three times a day with your card, and most applications also don't let you save to return to them. And if there's a waitlist for a computer you're screwed, too. Of course, you could go into a "mom and pop" type retail store, but they only want to hire their family members or Spanish speakers.

I'm not complaining here, it's just facts. But people who haven't lost a job during the last four years, they just don't have a clue.

Are you sure? Reachout offer an Optimus. I don't know why they'd do that if they don't do data
