AC Question

Nexus 6 user here...until today. I dropped it and LCD went out. So what's next? Im a T-Mobile customer...yes I know I have other options but I saw a promotion about getting $325 if you bring in a Pixel..wow! That basically makes the phone half price.

So the reviews or cons that's concerning to me are the smaller screen and lack of speakers. I'm not a phone-a-holic. I usually try to keep them 3 yrs or so..and browse with some streaming.

A key for me is battery life. That's one feature I really like.
So do I settle for the Pixel XL or suggest anything (except Samsung..another story for another day)?

If you check around, I think you'll find the Pixel XL is a very good phone, and should not disappoint you. No phone is "everything to everybody" so you have to decide if the "good things" on the XL are good enough for you and the "bad things" are not too bad for you.

If you can get your hands on an XL, I'd suggest doing so - nothing like the "hands on" experience.

In the end, your life, your $$s, your phone, your call - good luck

In keeping with the truth-in-posting laws, I own 2 Pixels and would not trade them for any other phone.

Why do you say settle for a Pixel? It seems like you have a negative outlook before getting one, so would you ever be happy with it? Try to find one and mess with it.
I bought my XL 128 gb a month ago. I am still in the 30 day return period Verizon was offering. I was hesitant because of new phones launching, but still would buy it all over again today with the other phones that have launched. I did experience the Bluetooth auto shutoff, but that has been fixed. I honestly have no other complaints and have not other issues. The XL battery has never made it below 35% in a day with me and that day was with 5+hrs of screen usage.

I went from the Samsung S7 Edge to the Pixel XL 3 weeks ago and I am so happy with the decision. I was contemplating waiting until the S8 announcement but I am glad that I didn't.

As far as battery life goes this is the best android device for battery life that I have had. I usually never see anything below 40% after a 12 hour day.

Charging is also extremely fast. I actually fell asleep last night without plugging my phone in and when I woke up it was at 41% so I plugged it in while I was getting ready for work and in the 20 minutes I was getting ready for work it went from 41% to 82% on the factory charger and cable. I then plugged it in to my quick charge 2.0 charger in the car and it was up to 100% 10-15 minutes into my 40 minute drive. My Samsung may have been fully charged as well but would have taken longer and my iPhones when I had them would have never made it all the way to 100%

Maybe my XL is slow? But after an hour mines at like 80 percent from 20, the S7E if i recall did charge in only a hour and 40 minutes from 0 while the pixel and XL takes 2 hours from 0-100

Me personally i have zero problems with my XL, battery is amazing, screen is amazing except a tad dim in sunlight butbstill brighter than most ips lcd displays, speaker is loud but not as loud as my 6P, but not too far off, better than my HTC 10 in loudness, its a great phone you should get, smoothest and best camera around, latest updates. Only phone i would have trouble decidng on if i were to buy this again is the S8

For a phone that has 2700 mAh, it's pretty efficient. On my active days, it lasts me 1.5 days. I came from a Samsung GS4 that has 2600 mAh and had to charge it everyday even with light use and the battery degradation overtime was quite fast.

Wow! I have only gotten 1.5 days one time. What do you do? I mean, I get a day and 3-4 hours really.

I have a standard Pixel, and I am happy with it. I say, if you are going to get one, go for it.

iPhone user here since 2009. Sold my iPhone 6S Plus and bought the Pixel XL. Battery life is pretty much the same, screen is better, speaker pretty much the same (it isn't much louder on the Nexus 6 either - you'll ear things a little louder in a quiet room and you'll ear almost nothing at all on a crowded room). Quality picture is pretty much the same (photos look a better on the Pixel screen because the screen is sharper).

iPhone 6S, iPhone 7, Samsung 7 Edge, Nexus 6, Pixel all great smartphones. For me it's a question of looks and OS - I was tired of iOS and I'm enjoying the clean Android on the Pixel.

I have a Pixel and love it.......but for a larger phone that is simply gorgeous, I also have an LG G6. Never thought I would go back to LG. My first LG was the LG G2. This G6 is really, really nice. Excellent price, gets me a free Google Home. The phone feels good in the hand, has a fabulous screen and really good battery life. Also is IP68. Never thought I would be recommending an LG, but there it is!!
