I have a Samsung Galaxy S3, model # SGH-I747M locked to the Rogers network in Canada.

I'm going to spend a week in Arizona in October and I'm looking for options to use my phone in AZ without buying a costly plan upgrade.

Can I get the phone unlocked and simply put a prepaid SIM card in and use my phone (data and voice primarily)?

I've tried searching but wasn't successful, I did see a couple of posts for Americans coming to Canada but I didn't see Canadians going to the US and using their phone.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah you can do that. No idea how good Rogers is with unlocking your device. Hopefully better than T-Mobile who simply told me no. I'd look around the net to see if you can find a US provider with weekly access plans. Verizon may actually have one, and they have the best coverage in the US.
