Hi guys, I'm new here and was wondering if you could help me. I am after a new phone but only have around ?200 to spend. I know this is a tall order but I am after quad core. It doesn't have to be ?200 but I need to know how cheap I can get a good quad core phone. I have looked at the nexus 4 but what are my other options?
P.S. If this is posted in the wrong location I apologize.

Welcome to the forums!

I don't know the conversion of British Pounds to American Dollars, but I can suggest a few options. The Nexus 4 is a solid upper level phone. Sure it has kind of low memory, but with a slim ROM that isn't so bad. You can always look at the Galaxy S3 or 4, or the HTC One. The Xperia line in Europe is a solid line as well.

Another suggestion would be if you know someone who would like to upgrade, but has a relatively new device you could offer the 200 for theirs and that takes a little pressure off of them for their amount.

If you're after cheap phones Chinese brands (actual popular ones in China not clone companies) such as Jiayu, Huawei, opportunity, lenovo, xiaomi do cheap phones that are stock Google os, quad core, good processors etc well made. A quad core jayu g3s and Jiayu g4 go for ?130 Inc 7 day postage to the UK. I have one myself and it's just as good as my mums s3, check out gizchina for reviews on the different brands and avoid Fastcardtech and panda will as they have awful customer service and will lie and keep your money if you don't pay with paypal

My first choice would be an HTC One X

Sure,it may be outdated with the new HTC One coming out,but it still a very decent phone.Quad-core 1.5 Ghz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor,4.7 inch Super IPS HD display,Gorila Glass,1 GB of RAM,8 MP camera,Upgradable to Jelly Bean 4.1.1

The only drawback is battery life, it's only 1800 mAh.

Are you looking to buy on or off contract?

Off contract, the Nexus 4, while not a quad core, is very fast and smooth, great phone. Comes with a stock version of Android, no carrier bloatware.

Here's another good phone with a mostly stock Android version, comes with accessories too. Also is a quad core CPU, not a bad phone for the price.

Old post but just in case anyone is still interested.... I think the best bang for buck nowadays is the Asus Zenphone 2... Seen it for 200$
