I currently have a 1st Gen XL, and am looking at getting the Pixel 3 XL because they are on sale through Google right now.

Is there anything that you currently do not like with this phone that they haven't fixed as of yet?

I saw that call quality was having issues, is that fixed?

What is the benefit of RCS?

Would you buy it again?

Or would you wait to pay for the new XL 4 when it comes out granted it will be more than the current 750 for XL 3?

I have the 3xl, and I really like the phone. I have had no problems with the phone. display is beautiful, sound is good. phone is fast. have a Note 9, long story, and I am drawn to Pixel 3 xl, even though the Samsung has more features. great phone. might be selling my Note 9

If it's on sale and can get that price definitely go for it, I have the pixel 3xl and love it . Don't have call quality problems some say they do but any manufacturer going have some type of problem with users. RCS is coming to most carrier soon so won't be long before we all have it , you get read receipts and better picture and video messages.

If you can wait, next Black Friday will get you a pixel 4. I got my 3 at $400 off. Everything on the 3 is now fixed. But it is not a huge improvement over the 2. The 4 should have more significant changes. It all depends if you can wait. You can't go wrong with either. I have the smaller 3 and it is still plenty big.

I was told once that if you wait for the 'next one', you will always be waiting...

3XL is great, never had any of the mentioned problems.

I moved from PXL to P3XL and never looked back. Better battery. Better screen. Smoother and snappier. And if you are on TMobile, it has their 600mhz Band 71, which can be a game changer if you live or travel where its been deployed.

I know people who have been waiting on Samsung's Galaxy line since the S2! Lol

I went from the original XL to the 3XL. I was more than content with my XL, but my kids needed new phones..... So the wife and I got upgraded.... Kids got the original XL's

At first, the difference wasn't that major going from the XL to the 3XL.

But now when my kids hand me the XL back to look at something or fix something for them....... Dang.

Night and day difference.

Screen is better, faster and smoother.

Once you go 3XL.... You won't go back

I see you are a newer user here - welcome to Android Central! And the Pixel world is amazing - I can totally see why you are wanting to stay in it and get the 3!

I have the Pixel 2 and do not think the 3 is a justifiable upgrade; but a jump from the origianal Pixel to a Pixel 3 would be well worth it!

With Pixels, they are constantly getting software updates; and so if there is a bug or something like that, Google is pretty good at pushing out but fixes and general improvements to the OS.

You can always return the phone if you buy it and then decide you do not want it! But a sale from Google - that's a hard thing to pass up!

Let us know what you decide!

Edit: I would buy your Pixel 3 unlocked, through Google. You can pay it off faster and buy insurance through Google if you so desire. Plus you'd have little to no carrier bloatware.

You can still unlock a Verizon version after you pay off the phone from Verizon. Just call them up and tell them to unlock it. The phone belongs to you at that point.

Carrier unlock. Not sure about the bootloader. I don't do the custom rom thing.

Verizon version normally becomes carrier unlocked overnight after activation with a Verizon SIM. After numerous complaints that policy changed and they started unlocking them without the need to activate on Verizon, but that is only for Verizon models not purchased through Verizon because Verizon won't sell you a phone without an account. It's not clear how long that policy will last.

So if I go into a Verizon store with 9 Benjamin Franklins they won't sell me the phone without a account ?:)

Edit: just saying bought TMobile phones and att without putting on my account

As far as I know unless things changed

Me too! Probably going to sell the Note 9 too with the S10 approaching feels like the best time to do it before resale drops further.
