I'm right now looking to change the ROM of my android to linage-OS. I've unlocked bootloader, downloaded TWRP and got it running etc. I've also downloaded the relevent zips.
At the moment when I attempt to install from zip file I get error log of
E: Unknown Command [log]
Updater Process ended with Error: 7
Error installing zip /sdcard/***filename***
Presently my phone isn't rooted, which I believe to be the issue, but unfortunately rooting it has proven to be rather difficult.
I've attempted to use Kingoroot, Kingroot, Farmaroot and maybe a few others I can't remember at the moment but they are all unable to load.
I've downloaded SuperSU and installed from ZIP using TWRP, But apparently it still doesn't have root access.
As some additional info the present operating system is EMUI version 3.1, with android version 5.1.1
