Lookout and locate issue?

Has anyone else had issues with the locate function with Lookout? I can make my phone scream and all other functionality seems fine? Support has been working with me. Nothing so far. Suspect a bug that affects reporting the location but still chasing the issue.

I am unrooted and have all updates.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I've tested all of the features in Lookout (including the remote wipe) and they've all worked. The only issue that I can report is their picture backup is less than stellar: it only backed up pictures from one specific directory on the internal storage (so screenshots, and all of the pictures/videos on my SDCard were not backed up).uploadfromtaptalk1367474611911.jpgThese are the location settings that I normally have enabled - I don't remember offhand if I checked their "Locate" feature with GPS off, or with the Google setting off, but I can go back and check both of those options and let you know.

As I thoughtuploadfromtaptalk1367475519565.jpgIf you just have the GPS turned off, it can still locate the phone using cell tower & WiFi capabilities (I snapped the screenshot before it centered on my location), but if you have Google location sharing turned off then it complains that it can't locate the device. uploadfromtaptalk1367475780623.jpgWhen I get a chance I'll see if the website allows you to overcome this deficiency, and see what the location centering is like with WiFi turned off.
Edit: I turned off WiFi, and my location accuracy was greatly degraded. Instead of being centered at my house, it was instead centered about a quarter-mile away (probably where the cell tower is located, but that's just a guess on my part). If you need more specifics, or further information, let me know.

Thank you so much. This has been a huge help. Same for me. With the standalone Google location services enabled, I can locate my phone. Even if the GPS is off. Very accurate in my case using both WiFi and 4g connections.

I always kept all the location services off (unless I needed them) to optimize battery life. I didn?t think you needed them for the lookout locate function to work (I think it?s supposed to not need them) but this resolved my problem.

Thanks again.
