lookout mobile security or seekdroid

I'm currently using Lookout and it works quite well. It checks all apps I install for malware and backs up contact/pictures/calls on their server. Haven't had to use the location application but I know it works. :)

I like seekdroid. I've tested all of the functions it offers (check market for description) and they all work great. My fav features are that you can hide the app and remotely turn on the gps.

Those of you using these apps, how many malicious apps have you found in the market?

Same, I haven't had a single one. But I also use discretion with app-downloading. You won't find me downloading fart machines or sound boards or the such.

seekdroid.

*one time fee vs. $2/month (premium LookOut)
*hide the app on the phone & make it uninstallable unless using internet with password to account
*retrieve call log
*it can do any important feature that LO can do. & if it can't, install another app for free from the market (antivirus)

as an opposing argument to "well LookOut backs up your contacts (gmail already does this) and backs up your email (gmail does this) and your photos (flickr or picasa does this). i don't need those features in an app that costs more money.

You don't need to pay the premium fee for lookout to get all these features.

And personally, I like to use one app that does everything. Most of the time multiple apps will use more ram.
As for the picture backup, Lookout is great because you can specify what time to back up. I set mine at 5am, when the phone will be plugged in and connected to my wifi.

I could not get seekdroid to locate my phone. It did everything else though. So, for that reason, I use lookout. And even that doesn't locate it closer than like meters or whatever.
