Loosing a few contacts

The other day my phone started deleting random contacts. Not sure if I caught all but a couple were people I still had texts from. The texts were still there but just showed a number-not the name. I think all were backed to Gmail as well.

Anybody else seen this or have any thoughts?

Happened to me all the time.

I did a factory reset didn't allow back up assistant run and only synced Google and have been golden so far.
