Lose Sound after Bluetooth Connection

Don't think this problem is unique to my Galaxy S3 or to Sprint, but here goes.
Some times, but not all the time, after connecting to a bluetooth device (either my Jabra Journey or my Jambox), and then disconnect by walking away from the device, my alert no longer make any sound. The volume is up on the phone, and the BT symbol shows I'm not connected. Only way I've found to resolve the issue is to reboot the phone. Any ideas?

Same thing happens to me when going out of range if using bluetooth. But you shouldn't need to reboot the phone. Try going into bluetooth settings. Turn bluetooth off then back on after a few seconds. Your device will show as paired but it won't be connected, however just tapping (selecting) the device you want (on the phone screen) will connect it to bluetooth again.
