Losing 4G

Well 4g was in and out now its totally gone here.

Also don't seem to matter if on gingerbread or ics. I was on gingerbread this morning and ran an ics ruu and still got problems. Hoping its a network issue.

I spoke with the San Bruno, CA Verizon store. They know about the issue and per the sales girl, it's only affecting certain devices. Software patches are being released. I don't think the local store really knows what is going on, but I do agree that this appears to be software related. I'll bet ICS will clear up the 4G drops.

Ahh yes, the word of a sales rep... because they are generally fonts on wisdom! VZW should pretty much change the 'sales rep' title to something a bit more befitting of their expertise... perhaps call them 'Oracles of Delphi' or something. :p

I'm in the Sacramento area in California and have been getting frequent 4G and total mobile network losses as well in the past 2-3 weeks. I usually I have 4G 4-5 bar signal strength when its operating normally.

I ended up calling Verizon when my wife got home because her phone was working on 4g just fine. They had me do pretty much all the tricks you can find such as putting airplane mode and restarting, even allow roaming on all trips didn't work. They are gonna send a sim card and see if that helps, the downer is I won't get it until Wednesday.

I tried the new sim card and that didn't do the trick.... Although I think I may have found a fix to this.... Read it on a different forum (forgot which one) What I did was go into Settings >wireless & networks>mobile networks >data roaming and select >Allow access for all trips and then do a battery and simple card pull.... And bada bing bada boom! Problem fixed  haven't had the data drop all day long. Hope this helps every one

I've always had that set to "Allow access for all trips" and still experienced the data drops in the last week and half. Even did the battery and SIM card pulls and tried different battery covers, didn't help. Then this past Wednesday morning (6-13-12), the problem just went away. That is until a brief bout again early this evening for about half an hour, but it's been clear again since without me doing anything with the phone.

All signs point to the network as the issue is happening across various phone models and locations across the country.

been screwy here in NYC & NJ this past week. if i switch 4g on half the time my phone thinks it has no data connection. been keeping it in 3g most of the time anyways but since i got an office job near a charger, i've been wanting to keep 4g on. no dice this week.

It's somewhat reassuring to hear others having the same issue. I was in Florida last week and this problem started there for me. I thought it was just spotty coverage in the area, since I am not familiar to that area. But since I got home last night, I'm still seeing drops here in Los Angeles. I hope VZ has a fix for it soon.

Off and on issues here also with my rezound and my wife's tb.chicago area, , near ohare airport

I'm having problems with the Bionic.

A buddy of mine from Florida called me today asking me about his wifes bionic. He said his connected pretty quick when he got into coverage but hers wouldnt and when it did the signal was a lot lower on hers than his was. I gave him a couple of things to try and if they didn't work to give Verizon a call. Weird how these 4g phones are crapping out, I have heard razors are too.

I am also in the chicago area but Lake County and I have been having horrible issues with my 4G going in and out. Probably for roughly the past week.

I'm really curious if this is still working for you guys. I've tried it and it doesn't help long term, still occasionally dropping data. My guess would be it's not the setting that may be helping you, it's the power down and SIM card pull which forces the phone to reprovision itself on the network on the next power up.

Anyway, my guess is that the issue has something to do with their LTE authentication system. See the link below for more info:

This Is Why Your Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Or Other 4G LTE VZW Phone) Is Losing Its Data Connection

Knock on wood, I have had no issues today.

Yah, I can go a couple days with no issue, then for no apparent reason it'll start dropping data for an hour or two then clear again on its own. Nothing I do with the phone ever seems to help which leads me to strongly believe it's the network. It all seemed to start the first week of June. Prior to that, LTE has been rock solid around here.

Most bipolar morning I've ever experienced on Verizons network. Non stop LTE>1X, for the past 4 hours or so. With both flash & javascript off, it took 3m 26s just to load this page so I could type this post. Thar's ridiculous for my coverage area.
