Losing 4G

I'm really curious if this is still working for you guys. I've tried it and it doesn't help long term, still occasionally dropping data. My guess would be it's not the setting that may be helping you, it's the power down and SIM card pull which forces the phone to reprovision itself on the network on the next power up.

Anyway, my guess is that the issue has something to do with their LTE authentication system. See the link below for more info:

This Is Why Your Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Or Other 4G LTE VZW Phone) Is Losing Its Data Connection

Well they should hurry and get this fixed because it seems to me they are sending out a lot of sim cards and replacement phones for network issues if this is the case. I'm all for device replacement if that's the problem but people get ticked off when even that doesn't fix the problem and start blaming phone manufacturers when if this article is true its Verizon's networks. The more LTE phones they sell the bigger the problem will get and they will start losing customers. Who cares how fast a network is if you can't use it, kind of like Sprint's unlimited, who cares when its dial up or less speed.

Yuuuuup

I get the impression that the authentication problem is really a performance issue (I work in IT). It seems like the transaction times out depending on current usage. If that is the case, Verizon needs to add some more hardware to the servers.

Had some issues last week. I know they've been adding to the 4g network in my area of FL. As of yesterday I've now been getting a 4g signal in areas I had never had until now and have been running 4g all day without much issue.

It's been a couple of days and I'm still noticing the occasional 'network problem'... Man! Changing the setting helped but like you, it's not a long term fix.

Just got my Rezound last week and freaked out when this started happening to me. Good to know that it is a Verizon network problem, and not anything wrong with my phone.

I have found that if I reboot my phone, I am usually good to go for a couple days before my 4G starts dropping out again. The phone reboots pretty quick, so I have no problem doing it every couple days until Verizon gets this worked out.

I didn't change any settings or anything, but I removed the SIM card for about a minute then rebooted. Seemed to help. I won't say it fixed, but helps.

Same here , all started about two weeks ago .. talked to vzw a few times about it , of course they say nothing is wrong ... After 3 calls I finally talked to a tech that said he has had 2 calls already mine being the third regarding this issue ... basically what he said is that nothing can be done at this time there is not enough trouble ticket submitted and advised to have friends or family members that are experiencing the same issue to call in and request a trouble ticket be made . this is the only way it will eventually get resolved per the tech

I went last week and they sent me a new phone. Still the same thing. Went back yesterday and they changed out the sim card. Still nothing. Then the guy told me to call the warranty center. This is annoying.

Ok so talked to the warranty people today and they said that it was a software issue and there is nothing they can do. And sending me a stratosphere. I think I might take the stratosphereback. I'm not downgrading.

Rezound owner in Raleigh, NC here, and I have been experiencing this problem sporadically for a few months. Like others, I am glad to know this is a widespread issue and not just my phone, however it hives me concern that is taking so long to fix the problem. My wife has an iPhone and is quick to remind me why I should have listened to her!

It just started becoming really bad for me last night and a woman from tech support ( Whatever that means) said its not a known issue to them and just because some people complain on forums, including their own, doesnt make it something they are rushing to look into. Her reasoning was that of the millions of customers that voice their anger, there are way more who dont and ask if I wanted to speak with verizon as if it was my phone alone with this prob. I explained my fiance has the same as do many of u folks. The cure all of a factory reset was recommended but I declined.

It's somewhat reassuring to hear others having the same issue. I was in Florida last week and this problem started there for me. I thought it was just spotty coverage in the area, since I am not familiar to that area. But since I got home last night, I'm still seeing drops here in Los Angeles. I hope VZ has a fix for it soon.

I'm posting this everywere u can please repost to spread the word I have had my nexus for 5 months all of which has been a ongoing issue. Calls were made to customer service multi times with no resolutions. They have had me jumping through every hoop I started digging this is what iv come up with
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/1...other-4g-lte-vzw-phone-is-losing-data-signal/

Go to the site read it for yourself I'm pissed

Maybe I'm wrong but if this is indeed true and its a network flaw and they know its happening and aren't fixing it, apparently since this was published in november of last year, then I would think if a person with a 4g device wanted to they could get out of their contract. More importantly I could see a class action lawsuit coming, not saying if they would win or lose, just that I wouldn't be surprised if one came up. I don't see how they can continue to keep raising prices on data when a flaw in their system don't allow you to use it reliably. Just don't see how you can advertise the largest most reliable LTE network if you have this going on.

I agree I have done so much leg work on finding out whats going on its almost a joke to me when I call customer service. Also I have had some admitted to the forum.

I forgot all about this option. Anyways, I did it about 30 minutes ago. It helped. Time will tell if it actually fixed the issue. It's definitely worth doing though.

Anybody tried dialing #228 to update roaming capabilities?

Sent from my Astounding ReZound

The thing about that is that it doesn't work. Says that the sim card updated the roaming capabilities.

Poor Droogin, banned in less than 24 hours from signing up, that has to be a record of some sort. I looked in his posts, didn't see anything questionable, anyone know why?
