I rec'd a Samsung Note 8 for my B'day about a month ago. I LOVE IT! 😀 Twice I've rec'd text messages w/ pictures from family... within hours rec'd another text only to find the previous 2-3 weeks, days, even hours earlier texts w/ pictures are gone! My text settings are to delete texts after 90 days. While at home I'm on WiFi... that's where I've been when my rec'd & viewed text messages have vanished! Does anyone know what is going on or how I can prevent this from happening again??

How did you know the settings are to delete messages after 90 days? Go to where you saw that setting and turn it off!

Hi Kruse...Thanks for answering & for your suggestion. ☺ I know it's set to delete the messages after 90 days because I went to the message settings & programmed it that way. I don't need to keep any messages after 90 days (don't want to use up memory or storage for needless things). On my old Samsung Note 4 I had the same settings & never lost a current text feed or one that was younger than 90 days! The problem I'm currently having is text messages (including pictures) are disappearing within an hour of receiving them. The sending party still has them in their text message feed.... but they've disappeared from my feed as if I never rec'd a text. I called Samsung support & they said "check with my carrier service". Having had smart phones for 10 years now, it's pretty easy to tell the difference between hardware & software issues. This feels like a software glitch to me.... But hey, I'm not a phone whiz, just an everyday user that is tired of losing text messages.

Maybe you've got a filter on to hide opened messages? Which app are you using? And you were first talking about text messages, then you were talking about emails. Which is it?
