Loss of song info with bluetooth

[Android Central Question]

I have been playing music from my Samsung Galaxy S7 on my 2016 Toyota Tacoma via Bluetooth for over two years with no problems. About a week ago my phone started doing something strange. It would still hook to the Tacoma and play music but it stopped displaying the song title and artist information and all the play and pause etc. functions stopped working. I have looked at every setting I can find/think of on both the phone and the Tacoma to no avail. I am posting this on a Tacoma site also but as usual I’m sure each one will say it’s the other’s problem. Any help will be appreciated.
