Hi

Tonight my wife's internal memory was full on her XT1068. I connected her phone to the laptop via MTP protocol. I then cut all photos from DCIM in internal memory and pasted to a new folder in the 32GB SD card (26GB free). During the transfer I could see all the filenames flashing by, but no files appeared in the new folder and the green file transfer bar didnt go green either.

Now I cant find the photos anywhere. They have disappeared from internal memory and aren't in the new folder on SD card. I may have pasted them somewhere else by mistake but I'm almost certain I didn't. I used picasa to look for the photos on the laptop, they aren't there. I tried Akalaka's steps from here in a last ditched effort:

That didnt work either. I didn't really expect it to because the photos weren't visible on the phone using Gallery.

Many precious moments of my young son may be lost forever - please help!

Can you remember if there is any change of free space on the phone memory and SD card after the "failed" transfer? When you choose "cut" files, the files will be deleted after the transfer completes or something interrupts it. So, if you can't figure out where the occupied space of the lost photos go, it possibly means they are deleted.
