Lost email

So when I refreshed one of my email accounts today all the read messages disappeared and no new ones returned. This is my work email so I really need to get them back. This has happened on my Hotmail account before but I just refresh again and they come back as unread, but it's not working on this one. FYI I do have everything set to keep the messages on the server(both phone and account/outlook) and have never had this problem w/ this account before. Any help/ ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

OK never mind after refreshing for the 10th or so time they just started coming back. So now my question is does anyone know why this happens?!

Stock email apps on almost every phone I've seen fail periodically with hotmail, yahoo, and various other popular emails.

I use K-9 Mail and it works pretty well. If you suspect that the stock email app is causing a problem you might try K-9 - it's free.

I have to power down my phone regularly to get email to work again. Very intermittent. Just letting you know that you are not alone.
