Hi I connected my pocophone to my laptop in order to transfer files, the folder was named and inside it was various folders all named.

The first folder I was moving was 7Gb, and it was transfering fine it was nearly done and it said 5sec untill complete, but 15 mins later it said the same thing so I got impatient and checked the folder and the whole folder had transferred and was available.

So I tried to cancel the transfer but it never responded, so I used Ctrl Alt Del, and ended the program disconnected my phone, then I opened my phone to find my named folder, and transfer another file, but my named folder has disappeared,

It hasn't been deleted and my internal SD card is still full so the folders are still there but I just can't locate them can anyone help thanks.

Uh-oh. This is why you should always use the Copy command, and not Move, because if something goes wrong with the Move operation, the source files/folder will likely still be deleted at the end of the operation, regardless of how successful it was. It's also a good idea to avoid transferring huge amounts of data over USB, since the more data you try to transfer, the more chance there is of data error.

What file manager are you using to look for that missing folder? If you can't find it using a good file manager like Total Commander, then you may have to root the phone and try to recover the files: [Guide] Recovering Deleted Files - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com

Thanks I'm using ES FILE EXPLORER, at the moment, just out of curiousity what is the best way to transfer large files and what do you use? Thanks.

I typically upload files to my Google Drive, and then download them to the device or computer I want to transfer them to. But otherwise, I'd use a USB cable. I just wouldn't try to transfer an entire folder with multiple GB of data all at once.

I would also caution against using ES File Explorer. Ever since DO Global bought them, it's been increasingly stuffed with hidden adware and other annoyances, and there's been concerns about data being sent back to servers in other countries when there's no need. The two main file managers I recommend are Files by Google and Total Commander (both free and ad-free).

As B. Diddy said, always use copy and then delete the source file after.

If your moving you files to a laptop, use Windows Explorer on the computer to complete the task, not the file explorer on the phone.
