lost SMS notifications stock app

I was using the verizon messaging app, and switched over to the stock app. Now i've lost my notification in the status bar.

I have already gone to the SMS app options and enabled all of the notifications, including the preview in status bar.

Anyone have a fix that doesn't involve wiping?

i use handcent sms app...it's my favorite. the new update unfortunately is a little glitchy still. others have said in the past the go sms is a favorite. might try something else.

Try textra. It has a nice interface and it is lightweight, fast, and smooth.

Thanks for the responses. I'll want to use the stock app. I'll figure it out.
