lotsa thunderbolt negativity.....

Best smartphone I have had yet. Waited at store before they opened on launch day and I'm glad I did. Oh and the new Nexus comes with ICS. It's the flagship phone for 4.0

Carry on

Yep, the Nexus One. That's good; my wife would have freaked out. She can't wait to upgrade from her OG Droid.

Best smartphone I have owned hands down. I see no reason to get away from my Thunderbolt until my contract allows for an upgrade. I have found I have used voice/data simultaneously more than I thought I would. An excellent feature. I'm in a solid LTE area Dallas/Fort Worth which was an early adopter of the technology. As it stands now with the latest stock Gingerbread, with over 120 apps installed and room for more, I really have no complaints. It does whatever I want whenever I want without lag, freezing or complaint for days on end without a reboot.

I am grandfathered into unlimited data but use wi-fi at home. Speedtest often gives me a better speed result on LTE than my 25mbs wi-fi connection does. Of course there are a few things sharing the wi-fi bandwith but still, LTE is absolutely stunning in my area speedwise. I'm literally walking around with a computer in my pocket that is as powerful as the desktop PC I had only a few short years ago, has almost as much storage and is on a faster network than anything I could buy until now. All this running off a battery the size of a book of matches.

I will consider rooting if it's the only way to get Ice Cream Sandwich but I have no reason to root right now.

To quote Arthur C. Clarke, "Any technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic." Based on that description I declare my Thunderbolt magical....nuff said.

Great post. Thanx.

I would also like to add something about durability. I am a construction worker. Pipefitter/welder, and this phone is contantly exposed to impact, high vibration, dirt dust, metal shavings, high frequency tig welding, uv radiation, and massive temp fluctuations, condensation.. all things that electronics hate. I currently have it protected with an otterbox defender, but have not always had that case, and after seeing what happens to iphones and Motorolas in my shop, I'm pretty certain I could remove my otterbox and use my phone to beat an iPhone in half, hit dialer, and call someone to laugh about it

I liked my Bolt so much I got another one for rooting. I liked rooting so much I forgot where I put my stock one. LOL Both are great but I do find it hard to use the unrooted one. I do use the stock one to get the OTA's. But after the OTA comes out I get it, I pull the SIM, and put it back in the rooted phone and use it.

I too am very happy with my Tbolt. The rebooting early on was a pain, but only temporary. My only lingering issue seems to be.that the phone intermittently disconnects from my car Bluetooth. So far it hasn't happened during a call. So I can't complain too much. Anyone else with that issue?

I got the OTA update last night. Always amazes me that they can make such updates all unattended.

i think the phone is pretty damn good also..i did come from storm 1..terrible..other than the email pushes and set up diffent sounds for different acounts still seems to be a problem but i dont care about that..figured out how to root and get all kinds of good stuff...most of the problems i think are operator error...get into here click on that then hit menu and get more settings...i still find something new everyday...but yea i troll all these forums and read try to learn more..i dont think any of the newer phones will be much better..maybe RONCO should make a smartphone set it and forget it IPHONE is close i guess..woman phone....iphone in one hand big vibe in the other..lol

I have nothing but positive things to say about the TBolt. It has been my best smartphone to date. My only issue was with MR1 and the reboots but all that is gone. The phone has been smooth and does everything I need it to do. Yes, "it just works" is a phrase I would use for it.

Maybe it doesn't mean that much to many people but... The latest issue of Consumer Report rated the Thunderbolt as the best smartphone from Verizon Wireless.

That's interesting considering all the articles floating around calling the tbolt the WORST phone released...

Articles are baised. The tbolt has its issues but worst phone no way. Better than my of droid better than my bb curve and storm previous to that. People are to crazy about hating on phones. When the nexus comes out ill send my tbolt out to someone who can use it.
