LOUSY Facebook Integration

I am really frustrated with the Facebook implementation on Android. For starters, I get stupid event invitations that I DECLINE, yet they are all over my calendar on my phone. I can't delete them because when I go to the given day where the appointment exists and select "delete" it says there are no events to delete. WTF???? I can see it, it's junking my calender up, but I can't delete it.

But what REALLY irks me is that every single one of my friends' birthdays is showing up one day BEFORE their actual birthday. I have no idea how to fix this. It IS a big deal. Come on...what is going on here???

ETA: O.k. this is just plain weird...I deleted my Facebook account and all the Facebook birthdays remain and now they are the correct dates. And the "stupid" event that had taken over is gone. I really don't understand what is happening here.

Which facebook app are/were you using?

I added the Facebook account through the Android accounts in settings. I had the Launcher Pro widget just for looking at quick updates. I have been trying to get Bloo to install but keep getting an error code.

Hmm...I guess at some point I installed the Facebook application as I see it in my programs.

I use the free facebook app from the market, and have my facebook account tied in with accounts sync for the Feeds and Updates widget. I've not experienced the problem you're having.

Which calendar are the birthdays and such showing up on?

The one labeled Calendar and has Google and Facebook on it.

ETA: I just noticed there are 2 ways to add a Facebook account and I'm not sure why to do it one way over the other...

There is the "Integrated contact accounts" at the top of the screen and the "More accounts" at the bottom of the screen.

Ah jeez...now all my Facebook birthdays are duplicated. But at least they are on the right date.

i agree. the facebook integration is lame on this phone.

I also ran into the duplicate birthdays in the calander and i also see events that i declined. Even worse i cant seem to get the facebook pictures to display for the contact. I am really starting to miss HTC sense

Delete your account and then instead of re-adding via settings > accounts and sync; open up the contacts app > click the menu button > click Accounts > click add accounts and then add the Facebook account shown under integrated accounts. I know it's weird but that's the only method I could get to sync contact pics.

There's also an app called Sync My Pix that works well, but try what I said first.

Yes, FB for Android sucks and always has sucked. Someday it won't suck and we'll all be happy.

Yeah I've pretty much given up for now & use FB mobile. Believe it or not, the latest FB app is 10x better than it was a year ago.

Can't you just go into the calendar settings and tell it not to use the facebook calendar?
