Im liking the M8, but one thing i miss is being able to type fast with little errors with my iPhone. I've tried alternatives to the stock HTC one such as swiftkey but i still can't get the speed as i did with the keyboard on my iPhone.

Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions on what keyboards they use for 'fast' typing/good accuracy?

I've never had issues with typing fast with SwiftKey. There's a way to calibrate SwiftKey so that it learns your typing style and can make good corrections, maybe try that?

From my relatively limited use of the iPhone keyboard I can honestly say I greatly prefer SwiftKey, but that's a matter of personal preference.

Many thanks, i'll try and investigate.

So you're saying swiftkey eventually learns your typing habits, so in the long run it will be easily typing?

Yep. But you can also calibrate it. I think there's an option in Settings to configure the way SwiftKey recognizes your typing, but I honestly forget off-hand since I've been using it for years.

Thanks, I'll have a look. So All in all, it does improve once it gets to know your behaviours?

If you`ve used Google or Facebook you can let Swiftkey learn from them your typing style and predictions I believe?

Thanks, I've actually managed to calibrate the stock keyboard and must say it's greatly improved. huge relief. Much appreciated.

I'm still using the stock keyboard on my M9 and it took forever to start learning my typing style. Even still, sometimes it remembers words and other times is asks if I want to add to dictionary. My biggest gripe though is that it doesn't remember capitalization the way my iPhone did.

I am not sure which version of Sense you're on, but the Sense 7 keyboard is the best I have ever used (and I own an iPhone 5, btw). I've also tried SwiftKey but my favorite 3rd party keyboard is most definitely Google Keyboard, so give it a shot.

I'm throwing a vote in for Swype keyboard. Swiftkey has a very annoying bug where if you select a word it automatically inserts a space - every time! So annoying. That was actually the main reason I use Swype now. Great keyboard.

Personally, I love the stock HTC Sense keyboard, which is a version of SwiftKey.

I find it very responsive and easy to use. Plus, I like the arrow keys at the bottom of the keyboard.

Yeah not sure on swift key myself. Really liked it on other devices I've tried but on here I tend to make mistakes a lot

I really liked the version that came with Sense 6 on my M8, but for some reason it doesn't seem the same on my M9. Lots of weird autocorrects. For the longest time on my M9 it "corrected" thanks to Thanes.

Yeah I'm starting to think this device isn't really handling the speed of how I type. Not a huge frustration though per se

One reason I went with SwiftKey is the variety of keyboards, including arrows along the bottom to navigate around the screen.
