Low reception disconnect issue

Anyone else experienced the need to restart after going through an extremely low reception area? The need to do so stemming from an inability to text, call, or use data despite the settings reporting that you're connected. I'm on Sprint, although let's not turn this into a Sprint hating thread, apart from this one minor issue that happens fairly infrequently right now, my service is great. Anyone have any thoughts on this issue?

Im on T-Mobile. Today while driving around Dallas, to Garland, then back to a different part of Dallas, i had connectivity issues. Went from LTE to 4G to 4G with no data and it hung. I Had to go into airplane mode once and LTE came back on. But the 2 arrows going in a circle that shows its syncing were stuck for about 30 minutes. I finally powered off the phone and back on and all is good.
