Low Storage Space after Lollipop Update

I have exactly the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4.
It "lost" about 10Gb!!!
Is there any other way to free them up, except a full wipe?
D*mn... Don't wanna backup all and restore. Helium and Kies not helping to save all-all programs data, app's icons in folders on all screens, etc...

I went into the storage section of settings and had it analyze my data. Uninstalled a couple of apps I don't use, deleted a couple of files, and recovered a lot of memory, way more than what I removed. I think using the space recovery app like that made it re-analyze my storage space and recover what had been hidden by the upgrade process.

I found the same thing when my space got really low. The storage settings said some of my apps were using way more space than they actually were. Sometimes I could delete them and get a ton of storage back, but not always. I think there must be an error in the way it calculates space used.

I too have the same problem and my phone is becoming useless. Using the analyzer app I have discovered that the 8gb of 'ghost' space is due to .thumbnails. They are hidden files and apparently 'inaccessible' so how on earth can I delete them?

Seriously considering getting a new phone!

Use es explorer and analyse your sd card. It will show all the large datas ,redundant files and more . Remove the unnecessary ones and dont forget to clean the recycle bin of es explorer as well . I had the same issue with my htc m7 with 21 gb eating up in "others" section . With the help of es explorer its reduced to 15 gb . 6 gb freed. Hope this helps you.
