Welcome to Android Central!

Even though you have a 16GB device, not all of that 16GB is available to the user. Some of it is used towards the OS and other parts of the device (pre-loaded apps/servies). Let us know what device you have and we'll try to help.

I would say the problem is down to the 200 apps you have installed on the phone.

I'll go out on a limb to say having 200 apps installed is your issue. Try deleting ones you don't use very often if you want to download any newer apps.

What type of phobe do you have. Like mentioned above, the system OS partition can take up numerous gigs of internal space. 8 - 10+GBs at times on some phones. Looks like the LG G3 had 10.36 gigs of memory at launch. It could be less now if you haven taken any major OS updates. Such as 5.0.2 to 5.1.1.

Try settings>system>storage. That should give you a broad breakdown of how your memory is being used.

Pulled from another thread.

and ermm..while I'm doing that, was hoping I cld be assisted with a ton of issues I m having with mi lg g3 d855..my avg AV once labelled the device management as trojan! not the android device manager though. presently I av the device manager (green icon with a + inside) with two other 'device management' with two totally different icons..one looks like what you use to adjust a radio freq. and the other like an SMS display..sigh. I also notice the device quickly goes into low memory even tho I av 16gb storage. tried adding up the apps. pics. music miscellaneous etc, and its not even up to 3gb! pls pardon whatever I might av done wrong by posting this here (in case there's any) and helppppp!

What is avg AV?

Do not run anti virus apps on your phobe if that's what you are referring to. Same goes for any battery doctor or battery saver app due to they do more harm then good.

Hello and welcome to the forums at Android Central!
I agree with srkmagnus.

Welcome to the forums. Even on a Nexus device, a 16GB phone will have about 12 GB available to the user. Now there may be some apps that are mis-reporting their storage, but a reset might be in order here as well.

It says 16 G, usually is 13-14G in physical storage. You need to close the apps when not using them, this will save memories.

This is incorrect. You're referring to RAM memory, but the original post is actually referring storage space. Plus, you don't really have to worry about RAM use. Android is designed to run with its RAM used, and closing apps completely will cause them (or others) to be initialized again in the background anyway.
