Low volume with incompatible headphones

I recently upgraded my phone going from an iPhone to Samsung not realising that my headphones are not compatible with android.

Samsung S8 (Android Oreo)
Bowers and Wilkins P7

The headphones are extremely quiet with the phone. I think this may because the inline remote does not work on the headphones due to the fact that the software is incompatible. On full volume I can hear people talking, and these are very good noise cancelling headphones, and this didn't happen with my previous phone.

If I buy another inline remote to attach to the aux cable would this work? Or is the only option to root the phone and increase the maximum volume? I would like to avoid this if possible. I have tried a few volume boosting apps but these have made no difference.

I bought the headphones for my commute as I can't stand the noise on the tube and these it blocked it out. They were not cheap and its too late to return either product. If anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful!

It sounds like the problem is the headphones, not the phone. I don't have an issue with any headphones. Since you said these headphones are not compatible with android, why not start with the headphones?

I assume you've tried inserting the headphones into your old iPhone and tested to make sure they're still good?

on your new phone, make sure it's inserted firmly all the way in. most headphones work on all platforms. the "designed for iPhone" is usually just to allow control of volume and other features, which only works for the iDevices.
