Loyalty card app that presents a scanable bar code ?

I came from an Samsung Note Edge to the Pixel XL 2. The Samsung came with an app called Beep and Go.

I scanned my loyalty cards in it and it worked at my health club and CVS. I guess it used Samsung proprietary tech because at the health club I just had to put the phone next to the bar-code scanner and it would work. Same with CVS.

Today, I worked out and put my health club card in Beep and Go and Google Wallet on my Pixel. I tried both and neither would allow the club laser barcode reader to scan...

Forget about credit cards. Is there an app out there for Android/ Pixel that will present a barcode that can be scanned by a standard laser bar-code scanner? Or is the tech just not ready yet unless the stores install special card readers for smart phones?

Try Key Ring....It allows you to add all your cards. it works with most scanners.

Android Pay will accept loyalty and club cards and generate a bar code. I mostly use my Costco Card bar code, but also have bar code for AMC and Regal cinema chains.

Do keep in mind however that many store scanners cannot reliably scan your phone screen. For example, the scanners at my gym work perfectly and have no problem scanning my "membership card" but those at two local grocery store chains that I have tested (ShopRite and Stop & Shop) cannot read the virtual barcode at all.

It must be your stores. Those same two stores have scanners that work in my area. Note....i think it has to be scanned with the handheld units.

Correct. And, since I mostly use the unmanned fast checkout lanes, there are no handheld scanners available.

Instead, I use the function that lets me manually enter my phone number (linked to my loyalty card) using a keypad.

It's the best option since A) it's completely native, so safe and updated regularly. B) carries over automatically from device to device. C) gives you a notification when you go to a store you have a card stored for.

If they could just have it apply at checkout using a cc on Android pay, it would be perfect.

I hit a CVS yesterday and they were able to scan my loyalty Bar Code. The health club must have a cheap/old scanner and it won't scan. Since I bring my phone into the health club to listen to music while working out, having the card on my phone was perfect. They were amazed last phone would scan, but samsung sends out a pulse that the scanner picks up so it doesn't need to scan the code on the phone.

They issue a tiny key ring card to scan in. I have two sets of keys, If I take the wrong keys no card and I have to give them my last name to get in. (new high school kids at the front desk all the time). Every card has a different barcode so I can't get two cards. I may scan and laminate it and rig a second one up.

I may try Key Ring, but I am thinking it won't work.

Edit: Most of the recent reviews say the key Ring app causes massive battery drain.

I've had no issues getting my barcodes scanned using KeyRing.

It is purposefully designed, and optimized to keep loyalty cards in. Adding a card is as simply as scanning the barcode with the camera. It is updated frequently.

How can key ring use massive battery drain if you only activate as needed? If you are referring to notifications settings simply turn those off.
