I live outside of Dallas. I have a Samsung Gnex with JB on it. When I got back from Louisiana yesterday I turned on the LTE mode. It would go straight to 3G. Now the bars are just grey when I put it on LTE mode. Do y'all have any suggestions? If any, could you please help me. If so thank you and stay blessed.

After updating your PRL and if it's still not working, try going back to an ICS ROM. Most of the JB ROMs could not test LTE to see if it was working since there was no LTE up until this weekend.

yeah, when i go to Sprint system updates it says "Setting has stopped" so I'm thinking about using a new radio.

I wanted to make sure that my LTE worked before I root.
Still waiting. I have not obtained a 4G signal yet here in the ATL.
Of course, launch was yesterday so I will be patient.

I know its a dumb question but you do have it set to "LTE/CDMA" in the mobile networks right?

LTE is non-existent to useless here in Houston. I can get it at the office (chase tower downtown) but my speed is now a whopping 1.5mbps down, 0.6mbps up. That's what I should get with 3g, but I won't even give you the numbers on that. I can walk a couple blocks away and have no 4g signal. There is not a single 4g enabled tower anywhere else in or around the city that I've found and I've looked at Sprint's 4g coverage maps quite thoroughly. Everywhere you'd expect to get a signal, it's 3g or worse. This has to be the worst rollout ever. I've been a huge sprint fan for many many years, but I'm not too happy about this. I gave up a half-decent wimax signal with half-decent speeds for nothing. (and yes, my prl is up to date). I'm surprised there hasn't been any news/publicity about how bad sprint's lte is.

Wonder if the Sprint GNexus is plagued with the same problem as the Verizon one as far as grabbing and holding the LTE signal. I'm a Sprint customer but just bought a Verizon GNexus for the LTE (since I'm sure Sprint LTE won't go live in my area for quite some time), I live in a strong 4G area and I keep my 4G connection for a couple of minutes at the most. When it disappears, I don't get it back unless I either switch to airplane mode and back, or power the phone off and on. 3G connects and holds fine.

I have seen on a few other blog sites that they have unblocked lte but its like 20% deployment in the announced cities. Also read where they started in the suburbs first and intend to work inward towards the center of the cities. I know people are exited for lte but there isn't much sense in getting all bent out of shape if you don't have it or its not a billion gigabytes a second. When sprint says its 100% deployed in a city and it still has crappy speeds and no coverage then get a torch and pitchfork. Check out this list for reference.
