LTE: Keep Evo or trade in for SG3 while I can?

On Sprint ... I recently (12 days ago) upgraded to the Evo, and it's great.

BUT, now I've discovered this and dozens of other threads in forums all over the web about how the Evo has a lame radio, especially not connecting/finding LTE.
(In particular: EVO LTE 4G connection issues - contact Sprint? - Sprint 4G Rollout Updates )

I don't have LTE in LA yet ... supposed to arrive by end of year ... so I have no way of testing.

These complaints have scared me; should I exchange it for a Galaxy S3 while I still can?

I'm especially interested to hear from people who are in an LTE active market and who have both of these phones -- how well do they connect? How do the speeds compare?

Thanks!

Yes. You should...but be wary, because the SGS3 doesn't have AMAZING radio for 4g...hell, not many that I know of have super 4g because of how new 4g is..IMO..I would trade up, the SGS3 has a fantastic battery straight from the manufacturer, and the phone is very fast and sleek...it has to be the absolute best of both worlds.:D

Ported from my AOKP Build 4 JellyBean Samsung Galaxy S3. :D

My s3 should be in my hands within a few hours. I'm getting a replacement device for my EVO LTE the phone and sense may look great but its hampered by ram sense brings nothing new or innovative to the table. I can't wait to see how the s4 runs when it has enough RAM.

It's fantabulous. Do it.....DO IT NOW! You know you wanna....just do it and make yourself like it....it's like getting extra cheese on your whopper.

You can't go wrong with either phone. Evo LTE is a beast of a phone as well. Specs are a tad nicer on the sgs3 tho.

Before you make your decision, check out what the coverage is in your area and if you're on the Vision Network (includes LTE) upgrade list. I had WiMax on my last phone, but opted for the S3 anyway, since we were on the list. Now that I have Vision Network, I'm happy I did. There are good prices on the S3, so I'd recommend it.

One thing to also consider is the removable battery w/S3. I'm currently using a Gorilla Gadgets 4500 mAh extended battery w/NFC. With full charge, it's giving me about 40 hours of heavy use on Vision Network (LTE). There are other battery choices available, as well.

I went into Sprint the other day to return my Evo.

IN THE STORE, there were 2 GS3's, which had a 4G signal. My Evo had no 4G. And there were 2 Evos in the store, ONE of which had 4G. The signal was weak -- LA is not 'on' yet -- but there you go.

After having the EVO for a week, my sister in law returned her's at my advice. She loves the GS3 so much more. I think you will too.
