I'm curious as to what speeds everyone out there is getting as Sprint begins to deploy their LTE network nationwide. This was the fastest results I could get so far but for the first day it ain't too bad at all. These results are from the southside of San Antonio. Lets see your screenshots and finally put WiMax to rest.

Its so odd seeing speeds that fast on Sprint

Can't wait for LTE in NY. Hopefully as we get more and more devices on LTE Sprints speed will stay the same. Even though there speeds were slower then others, barley moving in some parts of the country lol, since the wholesale alot of there network i hope they done limit or cap the speeds. With speeds like that home internet for some people will be obsolete.

The low latency is more impressive, typically <80ms. A smartphone app does not need more than 3-4Mbps, but low latency will help performance more than say 100Mbps at 150-200ms.

I got my first signal as I was in the movie theater today in Frisco, TX. It surprised the he'll out of me. The signal has come and gone.

Faster than my home broadband connection.

Also impressive is the consistency of those speeds (judging from the peaks & valleys of the line graphs).

Ok, I am drooling here...you guys are lucky! Hope we will get it soon in my neck of the woods!

Ok, this may be a dumb question but with my Epic 4g I was able to toggle between 3g and 4g with the drop down menu. I see no option for selecting 4g on the Galaxy S III. Is it hidden somewhere? Please tell me it's not automatic.

EDIT: Nevermind....found it buried in the settings menu. First round of google search turned up nothing but I eventually found it.

Here is a link with instructions for Sprint phones.

They need to get on the ball here in Houston. My wife's GS3 has yet to keep a 4G LTE signal. It'll display for a moment but not long enough for me to do a speed test.

Did anyone change in settings the mobile network mode? To cdma to cdma/lte/evdo ? To get the 4g going. ? ? ?

Yes...only way to trigger the LTE on. None yet in SE Houston.

Ok I work at Stone Oak and 281 in San Antonio and we did a test here at work on 3 phones... EVO LTE, Galaxy SIII and a Galaxy SII to show Wimax speeds.

EVO LTE: 6523 kbps up/ 2536 kbps down
Samsung SIII: 31526 kbps up/ 24563 kbps down
Samsung SII: 11383kbps up/ 1507 kbpsdown
