M8 In the Wild? I think I unintentionally took a pic...

I was at the BNP Paribas Open this weekend in Indian Wells, CA. At one point I was trying to take some pics of Nadal practicing, but I was behind a huge crowd, so I just raised my HTC One as high as I could and started taking pics. As I was looking last night at the photos, I noticed I captured a phone. I thought it was just another HTC One, but when I zoomed in, the sensors were in a vertical line right next to the front-facing camera. I believe this is the New HTC One being tested in the wild! Looks like there's a case on it.

It does appear the guy who has the phone is Asian, and his hat would indicate he's a USC fan since his hat indicates their tennis championships. Oddly enough, I'm a USC alum

Well, I think you're dead on the money. It looks like a One Max but the sensors are in the wrong spot so it must be the One, possibly with a case on it. The other thing that really sticks out to me is the guy has a double-jointed thumb. My wife does and it really creeps me out that she can bend her digits at seemingly perfect right angles.

Yeah . That's what I show new friends. My fingers can bend in ways like octopus arms .

I'm guessing they work for HTC, or testing for carriers? Wish I saw the phone when I was there, woulda been easy to strike up a conversation with him...and seeing that he's a USC fan, woulda been an easy foot in the door to get more info

That can't be true. Even though I have the One as well and think it takes pretty good photos, everyone and their mother's brother has been posting comments that the One's camera is the worst piece of tech ever invented.

Perhaps... (Everybody brace themselves)... they were WRONG!! Lol, I don't have one so I can speak to it in actuality, but I wouldn't be surprised if the camera issues get blown out of proportion like many tech issues throughout the mobile industry.

Hahaa, I've been very impressed with my One's camera. Most of my buddies have iPhones, and my camera is the go-to camera when we want a pic of something (and then I'll text it to them or share it online) and they especially like the front-facing cam for group pics because of the widescreen

Me too. I'm not pretending it's the best camera out there, or even that it's top 5. I know plenty of people have had the purple-tint issue. But on the whole, it's not a bad camera at all.

Wanna see something very creepy? Zoom in the first picture and between his wrists there is a Oakley logo from a towel... When I first noticed it it looked like the girl from The Ring was starring at me wearing a white baseball cap sideways!
