I have an M8 and I when I save a contact it automatically gives me the option to save it to phone. I have to select the option to backup into Google. So I accidentally saved it to the phone and not Google. So now I cant figure out how to go back and save it into Google once it is saved into the phone. Any thoughts? I can just delete the contact and resave it but I would like to know if there is a better way to do it that I am just not seeing?

Thanks for your help in this matter.

Matt

Welcome to Android Central! Once you've saved a contact to the Phone Account, you can't change the account that it's associated with. Either reenter it and specify for it to be associated with the Google account before saving it; or export the existing Phone Account contacts to a .csv or .vcf file (tap Menu and look for the Import/Export option), then import that file back into your People/Contacts app, this time into your Google account. You could also transfer that contact file to your computer, and import it there (by going to google.com/contacts, clicking on More, then Import).

Yeah this pretty much tells it all. Also if you have Verizon you can always use the Verizon Cloud to backup your contacts stored under your Phone Memory
