Made Deal With Vzw, your opinion?

Honestly, I don't care how old the tech is, I will stay with them so long as Verizon provides the best total network coverage.

This.

No other carrier has the same signal strength, overall service area or building penetration that VZW has. I'm all for new technology but if it works I'm happy.

Just supposition, the point isn't so much when CDMA is put to bed, but that it will be and your service plan with "calling minutes" will cease to exist with it. CDMA and unlimited data will fall off by attrition and when the change comes, there will likely be too few subscribers on the legacy plans to stop the transition. That's the point really.

I don't think Verizon would end the giving of minutes separate from data since voice uses so little bandwidth compared to data. Giving unlimited minutes and texts sounds like a good deal, but really, it doesn't cost Verizon very much. If they start counting my gb, then people making mostly calls would have their bill go way down.

With that said, I am sure Verizon is thinking of a way or has already thought of a way to get people off unlimited for good. But for now, just enjoy it. Who knows what will happen in the future.
