Android Central Question

My Samsung S9 has just updated to Android Pie and I no longer have labels on the main 5 shortcuts at the bottom of the screen. All other apps do have labels including the main 5 apps when in the normal or apps screens.

How do I get the shortcut labels back please

Let's start at the beginning. Clear your cache partition and reboot.
If still no good, boot into safe mode. If it's good here, you must have a 3rd party launcher, icon pack, font pack, etc that isn't being recognized.
If still no good though, your system update needs to be verified as complete. Good luck.

Doesn't matter what he does. The dock doesn't have labels anymore on Samsung OneUI.

That, my friend, is the new design. It’s the new layout. It’s intentional. Welcome to Pie.

So there is no way to restore them? BTW, they do appear in Landscape mode just not in the normal, Portrait mode
