Major Bluetooth Problems

It just keeps getting worse for me. Seems like the last update or 2 ruined my phone's Bluetooth performance. My phone used to auto connect to my LG headphones when I am at the gym. All I did was turn on the phones & I heard "connected". Now it only works when WiFi is off. I have to manually press the connect in the settings. I added the device to the "trusted" section but still won't auto connect majority of the time.
Second problem is my car. Since I have had my phone it always linked up to my car without having to press anything. Now I am having the same problems, Wifi must be off & it doesn't auto connect. I tried deleting the pairing, losing my uploaded address book. Now it pairs some of the time but my address book will not upload. I tried clearing cache partition, restarts & re-pairing but this is a big mess. I'm close to retiring this phone but don't like the current lineup.
Is this a HTC thing ? Am I the only one having problems? Any advice is appreciated. The only thing I did not do is factory reset. Hope to avoid doing that.

You aren't alone in this one.

My Bluetooth performance is terrible since Lollipop.

Moto360 doesn't work like it did before, and I have a brand new Bury CC9068 car kit that I can't use at all because its reboots every 30 seconds due to an incompatibility that wasnt there before.

Im told these things are fixed in 5.1 or 5.1.1 but on my unlocked UK M8 there's no hint of these arriving, with some saying it isn't coming at all. HTC themselves are keeping quiet on the whole thing too.

Very unimpressed.

I had no problem in the past with their "bugs". But as of today my phone is completely unusable. Without a dependable Bluetooth connection it is worthless. After deleting my phone from my car's stored phones & re-pairing, I now can't get the phonebook to download. It worked before. What good is a hands free phone with no contact list?
