Major Bug - Mobile connection

Sooooo

I went to my connections and turned off the mobile network but kept on the wifi.

Now we know that means I shouldnt be able to recieve anything via my network such as text messages or phonecalls

BUT

I could....i got texts as normal....I was shocked.

I dont understand it.

When i turned it off, the network, The screen was still showing that I had full signal rather than showing the x

Has anyone else noticed this??

Mobile Network is just your Edge/3G/HSPA+/4G connection. Not the phones actual ability to receive phone calls and/or text messages.

Sounds like you are looking for airplane mode.

WRONG WRONG WRONG.

You turned off MOBILE DATA. web browsing, which means all web and internet access has to go by WIFI (which it would anyway if wifi was on).


By the way: Did you notice the Show Me app in the app drawer?

Phone calls and text messages do not come via mobile data.
They come via the GSM cellular channels/
