My GPS takes forever to connect. When I hit navigation it takes between 5-15 minutes for it to finally connect to a gps sat. I am in a very strong 4g area. Verizon told me to do a hard reset which I did and still doing same thing. Any ideas?

What type of case are you using? Maybe the case is interfering with the signal. Do you have the same problem with the phone naked?

Are you trying to use GPS indoors or outside? I think you need to be outside or near a window for GPS to work.

Download GPS Status from the Market and do a Menu -> Tools -> Manage A-GPS state -> Reset.

There's some kind of bug with the GPS on this device, and clearing this speeds things up. I went from 5-10 mins to < 10 sec for an accurate (10 sat) GPS fix.

I hope you are not trying to get a strong GPS signal indoors... you should be outside with a clear view of the sky... sometimes I get fairly good signals from my home near my large window, but I can never get good signals from inside my work building.

Also run gpsfix from the market. It has fixed 3 tbolts so far for me. Signal locks BEFORE the map tiles even load.

This completely fixed the issue for me. Thanks!

I had this issue

My GPS would take 20-30 min to lock on...I went through every forum I could find, and downloaded every gps fixer I could find--no luck.

I finally broke down and had Wirefly send me a replacement. Pain in the butt, but now the GPS locks on in seconds....

If you've tried everything and it still doesn't work, get a replacement.

ive had this same problem for the first 2 days.....but after getting a gps lock for the first time, (took 5 min) it usually takes the phone less than minute to lock on now. Just make sure youre outside. Inside buildings and home doesnt really work all that well.

but now i just leave my gps on at all times, and once i launch the maps app, it locks on after 5 seconds.
