Wow!
I had no idea that I would be having this many issues unrooting my phone.
Here's my situation:
1. I used Unrevoked Forever - which I later found out was a mistake because of the issues it causes.
2. I followed the directions using the tool offered by Unrevoked to "unroot" the phone and it doesn't work. I can get to the s-on but the PC36IMG.zip they supply comes up as incorrect and as an "old version" so it won't recognize it.
3. I have looked all over the place for the RUU, but I only get broken links. Then I am told on some of the threads that I must have a Windows PC to do the unroot, I have a Mac.
4. Here's the information on my phone:
- HTC EVO 4G (Sprint, obviously)
- Android Version: 2.2
- Baseband Version: 2.15.00.11.19
- Software Number: 3.70.651.1
I am at my wit's end on this and really do not want to have to have an "accident" to replace the dumb thing if I can get this thing back to factory settings. I've tried the factory reset as well, with no results, still is rooted.
I would really appreciate any help that any of your could give. I have tried searching around but I just can't find anything that works for my phone. Please, I really need the help.
(raising my right hand) I promise never to root again and never to ask how to do so in the future!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, in advance!
