So, I did a factory data reset this morning because my Facebook was annoying me and not letting me uninstall my account. Not the App, but the account. So, I backed up everything up and checked the automatic restore. I restored my phone and immediately started noticing weird stuff. I went into the market and my apps were there but they didnt download by themselves. I had to check each one and start it downloading, then, they would all freeze on download unless I clicked on them again and then they would install. But in my notification bar, there was nothing. Then once I installed everything again, I found that all my apps have reverted back to versions from around 2 months ago. And the market wont tell me what needs updated (which is pretty much everything) Please help anyone. :(

Ok, dumb question, I read you sticky and need to know, how to 1) backup sd card. 2) doesnt formatting the sd card wipe everythign ie pics, music, etc.. 3) if I do this, how will I get my phone back to where it was in 10 mins? I'll have to write all my apps down and go into the market and download them all again.

Backup your apps with a backup app. If you are rooted Titanium backup is great. Backup your SD card by just moving its contents to a computer.

exactly, once youre connected to a pc, just drag your sd card over to the desktop... +1 for titanium backup if youre rooted, if not you could use mybackup pro or something like that from the maket to backup your apps. 10-15 min altogether

Ok, well I did the factory rest as explained. My phone is not rooted so I couldnt back up may apps and thats where im running into problems. I wrote down all my apps and painstakingly went through the market and re downloaded them. But a handful of them are still old versions of the apps. My beautiful widgets version is the from december, my pulse app is the original, I installed angry birds again and the icons are the blue screen of death. I have no clue whats going on.

Heres the latest tidbits. I'm finding that since I've done these two resets today, that any apps that I used widgets for (pulse, beautiful widgets, battery guage, just to name a few) open normal if you access them through the app drawer. however, if I place a widget of these apps on my homescreen, they are reverted back to older versions of just the widget. Also, any contacts that I had starred in android, Facebook is not recognizing. Essentially, my family and friends of whom I also connected to through FB wont sync pics because the facebook app says they dont exist.

Can also backup your SD card by plugging in the USB cord, putting the X in USB mode, open the X as if it were a flash drive on your computer. Drag and drop all files into a folder on the computer. After you do the FDR, you reverse the process. Likely, though, you would have to open each folder and drag the contents so you don't double up the folders on your SD card.

Can move anything to or from the SD card this way. Don't need an app to do it.
