How do I prevent the stupid Verizon Backup Assistant website from opening on my computer every time I plug in my Razr? Verizon, I hate your damned bloatware on your phone. Spamming me to pay for extra services every single time I plug my phone in will NEVER make me buy them. I hate spammers, Verizon!

Not sure you can. I noticed this with the 173 update. I've learned to ignore it and just close it out.

Okay this is how I did it on my computer! I am using windows 7. When I plug my phone into the computer in the right hand corner there is the hidden icons drop down tray on the taskbar. (See attached) When those icons come up, there should be an icon call the motohelper. Right click it! It will ask you "when devices connects" click that and then you tell it what to do.

Thanks, I hated it opening up every time. Appreciate the tip.

Thank you very much

I used to be in this situation (I don't know if it's the situation described above):

Connecting my Motorola Razr M Android phone to my Windows PC via USB cable made Google Chrome browser automatically go to the Backup Assistant web page at Verizon, interrupting whatever I was browsing. Big pain.

To stop this, I went into Windows Control Panel and uninstalled Motorola Device Manager.

Problem solved.
