Make keyboard slide smoother

I was looking at a friend's droid and noticed his keyboard slid out very fast, almost as if it had a spring pushing it, I've noticed my keyboard has a good amount of resistance to it.

I've had my droid since launch and my friend got his about three weeks ago.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips to make the slide motion smoother.

I've removed all of the factory covers etc that come with the phone already and can't really find a whole lot on this subject.

I dont personally know of any ways to do this, nor do I think I would want it to continue to spring open. I would think that would eventually lead to the phone not staying closed properly. (just my opinion of course)

Look on the back of the screen section. If you see a clear piece of plastic covering the back remove it and your screen section will slide MUCH smoother.

really that's removable?! LOL i feel stupid thanks a lot!

yea good idea to remove the plastic from the back..NOT... but any way i prefer a tighter slide then it will not flop open but each his own..

Ha holy poop never even saw that there.

But regardless i'm with moosc, i'd rather have mine harder to open than easier. I rarely use the keyboard anyways.

Are you sure that's supposed to come off?
On mine, the clear plastic covers most of the back except around the edges. To me, it looks like it's supposed to be on there.

Also I have a case on my droid, So using the case for a while then take it off and you will notice that your Droid will slide alot smoother.

I took off the plastic, and put a sticker on the back of it

I love it too :) My little Android is on the back of my screen.

DO NOT...I REPEAT DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC OFF THE BACK OF THE SLIDER.... this will cause all the memory to leak out. j.k. lol. im bored.

I took mine off because it was peeling off and wouldnt stay anymore. I am not entirely sure that it is supposed to stay on

I peeled mine off and the screen feels the same. The only reason I didn't leave it was because it looked like crap-it was full of air bubbles.

When the Droids first came out, someone contacted Motorola tech support and they were told that it should be removed. It is only there to prevent scratches during production. If you leave it on, it will just get bubbly and look like crap eventually haha. But still there are lots of people who SWEAR that it should stay there. Oh well, to each their own I guess. I took mine off and like the easier slide. It also never opens in my pocket or anything.

Just took mine off ......slides so much nicer. If they didn't want it off thed they should have put it on better.

Just tried it...phone doesn't grate like it used to when I had the sticker. Good find!
