Hi all
I recently purchased the V30+ and discovered something that I think is important to share with other users. I have no way of knowing if this problem is unique to my set up, but regardless it's some food for thought.
I noticed that the quality of my audio and it's volume was often inconsistent. For info I use Sony WH1000x Mk2 and obviously connect to the V30+ headphone jack and ensure the HiFi DAC is on. Some times when i connected and powered up my headphones I would get amazing audio and a powerful sound, not able to go above 60 volume without hurting my ears. Other times the sound would be somewhat lacklustre and I would have to go to 75 volume to even come close to the previous.
After some basic process of elimination I discovered that it was due to the sequence that I connect my headphones. If I connect the cable to my headphones first and then the V30+ I get the sub par sound, however if I connect the cable to the V30+ FIRST and then connect into the Sonys, I get the full HiFi experience.
In the end I do not know why this is. As I said, perhaps it is a problem unique to my gear, but nonetheless if you have a V30+ I would recommend comparing the audio you get out of it using the above method.
Peace!
