Hello everyone after installing the verizon update I noticed this app under my "running services" under core-android-apps which was never there before. Does anyone else have this as well. It comes up as...MakeSimDBSService

When I try to kill the app a message comes up saying "This may have undesirable consequences on the application Contacts Storage"

I was just curious as to if it's imp. or not and can I kill it or not. Once I kill the app. it never comes back unless I restart the device. Thanks

i too am wondering the function of this MakeSimDBService app.. can anyone tell me what this is???

I believe it has something to do with your contacts storage, it might even say that in the warning message. I think it is a OS process and not an actual app. Ive seen it many times and have killed it many times with no ill effects that I noticed. If it doesnt go away after a while then you can kill it if u want it should restart itself if it is needed. But I am no android OS expert this is just what happens with my phone.

Android is built to have system processes running in the background. If you kill off those processes, it could have negative effects, including killing off your battery because they will typically just start up again anyways. No need to kill off apps and processes

+1. No need to interfere with androids processes. It does a very good job of managing running services and allocating resources on it's own. Any additional commands on your part just makes the device work harder to restart what it needs to function. The only thing you have to worry about ending are running apps found in the stock task manager. Let the system take care of the rest.
