making a video call

Couldn't you just use Skype or something like that, that does video chatting? Then you wouldn't have to worry about being on the same carrier or phone or whatever.

there are two things that need to happen to do video call. Both of you need samsung phones note 4 and higher. Both of you need to be on vzw. You cannot video chat with a iphon stock.. unless you use a third party app like tango/ skype

You both don't need a Samsung.. I have a LG V10 and mom has Note Edge and we can do it.. However mine isn't working now

I have a question, I have 2 samusng J7s , both on cricket both have an option for video calling, but we can not video call/?? is there any reason to this?

I have 2 att samsung galaxy s6 edge and I can't get my video call to work and there both is on att

Ive been reading this blog and keep seeing the same thing that both phones have to be on same carrier and be the same phone but ive done it with a note 5 on tmobile to a cheap lg phone on metro maybe becase they share the same network but they were different phones

My mother and I have s7 edge which we can video chat but my father has the s7 active and can not video call with us.

Did they happen to tell you what you needed to do to make it work? My fiance just got the s7 and i have the s7 and it's not working for us either.

My husband and I both have T-Mobile and it works for us.

Is there something I need to do? My daughter and son have Note5, I have S7 they get video calling but it won't work in my phone. They don't have a problem.

I know it's not the same (and uses data if not on wifi) but has anyone used Google Duo? I was thinking of giving this a try (almost my whole family are iPhone users), I have used Tango in the past and was looking for something different.

We both have the galaxy s7 edge but the video icon doesn't appear in contacts just phone and messaging

If you trying to dial other party from Favorite you won't see the Video Icon. Just do it from contact. The video icon will appear. My little one love to video chat with me on my way home. :) Work awesome

It doesn't have to be two newer Samsung, just phones that support VoLTE (at least on Verizon) except iPhone have not turned that feature on yet, although they do HD calling on VoLTE. Also again on Verizon doing a video call does use data.

Both on same carrier?
We have the same carrier but I have lg and he has Samsung it use to work but I got the lg g5 and now mine won't work at all
His will start but then say I'm unavailable and I have all the settings enabled for it so idk what I'm doing wrong

I have the s7 active, everyone else has s7, s7 edge and s6.... mine is the only one that doesn't do video calling, even though the video calling is turned on

Settings>advanced calling>turn on advanced and video calling. Check ur settings ...mine works different phones but same carrier

Can not figure out how to make a video call the icon doesn't even show up when I bring up the contact and I know they also have the s7 edge. Everything is enabled what am I doing wrong.

I found out that the carrier must allow you to surf the Internet while talking on the phone. My sister has a S7 and I the note 5 she's on sprint and me t mobile we can't video call because Sprint doesn't allow using the Internet while on a phone call. My other sister has Metro and a Samsung J7 and me the note 5 we can video call each other with no problem. So check with the carrier to see if it's allow.
