Sure media consumption is great on the N7; watching movies, surfing the web and reading books & magazines is fine but what about work?
I already made it a point to learn how to edit G-docs spreadsheet on my old htc desire's 3.7inch screen. Sure it was a pain in the butt; but it can be done.
I was a little worry during I/O presentation as the speakers didn't mention anything about working on the tab. Especially just learning about what MS was doing with their Surface Tab.
Well I'm glad to report that the N7 is also a lean mean money making machine.
I just finished my first G-docs online presentation, we have a sales force across the world and creating and editing a 80 page slide show with animations and pictures is a breeze. The G doc ppt looks the same cross platforms, operating systems, and devices. The ppt works the same on an iPad, as on old XP PC or on a Mac book.
I take also take Skype calls anywhere, video conferencing and closing deals face to face when while I'm sitting at a Starbucks.
Team viewer offers a great free remote desktop experience. I can also log on at a Starbucks and it feels like I'm back on my work terminal. The N7 can fit the width of the PC screen comfortably.
I never miss a single email from the built in email client that syncs to our corporate IMAP map servers. The UI is breeze use and easy to look at.
The two free hand note taking apps that I have on now are Handrite Free and Evernotes Skitch. Skitch syncs to your Evernote account so those diagrams and drawings appear on your desktop. Handrite is great cause it is a direct pen & paper replacement. Handrite has a great widget for quick and easy access. I drive and take orders all day, and with my stylus, I finally retire pen and paper from my life.
I’m not a day trader, but a moderate swing-trader. Sharebuilder’s UI really looks good on the Gnex as well as on the N7. Again with my Gnex hotspot, I can make trades in and out while out in the field and commutes.
The rest of the work features, most of you know and use, such as the great G-calendar that syncs to all my devices, and yes, loving Google Now; it tells my commute times and my schedules for the day. Great for Notes to self with an audible copy so I can dictate whatever million ideas I get while stuck at a red light.
I'm doing all this with out an external BT keyboard or mouse, most of what I wrote here has been done on the N7, this pretty tab in one week has more than paid for itself...
A few concerns about Android, Jelly Bean in general and the N7 is that I wish Android would have an official Windows Emulator; where we and side-load official Window's programs such as Quick Books. At work, we sell USB medical technologies hardware peripherals what only works with Windows, I wish there is some way to make it work with Android any my tab. I know I can always remote-in my work computer, but having a dedicated program on the tablet would be ideal.
Interested in hearing your story of how your N7 is making you $$...!!!
