Please, I need help in deleting contacts on Android one. I reset a device to factory settings and intend to not restore all contacts from back up. I logged into my Google account from a computer and deleted all contacts but to my amazement. The contacts all keep coming on to my device and in multiples from several back ups. I don't know where it's pulling them from despite deleting everything even from drive. Why does android make life diffiyfor people. I do these simple things very easily on BlackBerry without complications.

If you delete all contacts from your Google Contacts on the web, then all of those contacts should disappear on your phone as well, assuming it's logged into the same Google account. But if the phone was also backing up contacts using some other means besides Google's own sync, then just trying to delete contacts from your Google account won't be enough, since the phone will keep trying to restore from its non-Google backups.

Which phone do you have, and what backup options are there? If you stick with using Google for your contacts, things stay simple. Once you start throwing in other backup methods (which could be from the phone manufacturer, the carrier, or voluntarily installed by the user), then confusion can set in.
