I've had my phone for about 2 years and within the last 2 weeks it has been causing me major issues.

It started with heavy lagging and freezing. Then it would randomly restart. It progressively got worse with continuous restarts (sometimes restarting before actually starting up the first time), then at times it didnt read my sim card. Then instead of restarting the screen itself would just shut off but the phone wouldnt turn off (battery was still draining, realized once I took the battery out and put it back in). Now this morning it shut off and when I turned it back on all my contacts were deleted and anytime I attempt to open an app it says "___ is not responding"

Could this be a virus? I could not find anything suspicious downloaded onto the phone. Or is this simply the phone itself going out and dying for good?

It could be you prepping yourself/wife/girlfriend/parents that you need to upgrade to the new note 7:D

Seriously though, the phone is two years old, a new battery would be in order. A factory reset is known to clear up the issues if you have a fairly new battery

There has been numerous similar issues reported in the last month or two. Here is one thread:

I kinda figured it was just due to it being old. It's basically done at this point so I'm getting a new phone this week. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't anything that I did wrong on my part lol. Thanks for the reply,

My Note 4 is running as good as it was when I got it day one. New battery and after a Factory reset after the update. I just want the New Note 7. I will get it at the end of the month.
