Maps always running on nexus 7

I went into settings/battery to see what processes I have running that are killing my battery. I noticed that make was running and it was showing twice. I was able to stop one of them but the other one stops and them starts again. Anybody else having this issue?

I discovered what the issue was. I recently saved some maps offline. I went into the settings and cleared local data and rebooted and maps was no longer starting on startup. Just some info for those who plan on using offline map data.

Me thinks:
Settings > Location services , disable Google's location service and/or Location & Google search

Nice catch jsz3us I was having the same issue and just clearing data in maps fixed it thanks.

Maps always will run. Be sure NOT to be signed in to Latitude, however! That will kill the battery
