Since ICS or the latest Android Maps update (I'm not exactly sure when this started) when I attempt to "get directions" on a website it goes to a map with "get directions" at the bottom. When I select "get directions" it goes to a new navigation screen with a list of directions but no nav function. And after trying again it forgets my location. Is it supposed to be this way? Unless there's a keystroke I'm missing the only way to nav is to write down or remember the address and enter it in the maps screen.

Are you able to long-press, highlight text; then, copy text? I just tried it in Chrome - worked well enough.

I do miss the 'tap to open in app' functionality.

I noticed the same thing. You would think it would automatically put the address in without making you write it down. Something doesn't seem right.
