Market Help -- Cannot Purchase Apps

Hi everyone. I've posted this in the android market help forum as well, but haven't gotten any response from google or otherwise so I am hoping maybe the community has some tips to help me out.

Background:

I started my android experience using my google apps for your domain account (matt@<mydomain>.com). I was able to do everything you would be able to do on a google (or gmail) account.

When I went to purchase apps from the market, it said it could not find a market account associated (naturally, since GAFYD cannot sign in to checkout). I gave it my gmail account to sign in to checkout and I was on my way to buying a lot of apps.

Now, on to my problem. Recently Google has begun transitioning GAFYD accounts into full fledged google accounts. This seems to have broken my checkout account link on my android phone. I also cannot add either in the account profiles as an alternate email as it says they are now associated with other google accounts.

When I browse the market on my phone now, it shows all of my previously purchased apps and I can download them with no problem. However, when I attempt to purchase new apps, I am prompted to enter a credit card. When I do so I receive "Server error has occured Retry or Cancel" This always occurs preventing me from purchasing any new apps with my GAFYD account. If I sign in to my gmail account on the phone after a factory reset, none of my GAFYD purchases show in the market.

So, it seems like one of two things needs to happen. One, I figure out how to relink my checkout to my GAFYD account, or Two, I sign in with my gmail account, and repurchase all of my apps (Not particularly appealing).

Thanks for reading all of this... my question is dear community, does anyone have any suggestions, or has this happened to any of you? Thanks in advance!
