Heh... Is that sarcasm I detect in your response Frank? I'm in the same boat. I can see a lot of apps, but the "protected" ones seem not to be there, i.e. Angry Birds! Seasons is found just fine but I had to hunt down an (I'm assuming past-dated version) .apk and adb it in.

Any signposts for getting protected apps to show in the stock root market would be awesome...

This also happened to my market after switching to 1.1 rooted.
I think it has something to do with the ID of the Nook in the build.prop file, but it's currently labeled as the verizon sholes, so I don't know if changing that would help.

I was having the same issues, (trying to find JunOS Pulse)... I kept rerooting mine (for other reasons, and I had the time), now on this go 'round, I seem to have finally gotten most of my protected apps back (including JunOS)... it's using the "Shoes" fingerprint still...

Are you guys with 1.1.0 rooted running the "new" or "old" Market? I recently rooted from 1.1.0 and noticed that "old" Market was default. Do you know if it will auto update? Or do I need to manually install an apk? Will the device listed as "Verizon sholes" affect new Market update?

Personally I'm rocking the old market, and was going to start a new topic but it seems reasonably correlated to this... Where is the update? Can it be pushed via adb? Does it have to be? Are we s.o.l. unless running NF or NH?

When I rooted my other device from 1.0.1 old market updated automatically to new market within hours. Honestly, the old market has the same functionality, it's just that I'm being OCD about it lol

No, I was 100%. I seriously never even thought to try that and I felt like an idiot when I saw that it was so simple.

So what you're saying is that the apps in the market you were looking for while in portrait magically appeared when you tilted the nook? I find it hard to believe but can't verify at the moment...

That's exactly what happens. Only 10 apps load in portrait, then switching the nook to landscape, you can see it think while it knows the rest are off the screen (the 10 apps in portrait fit on the screen). So then it loads the next 10 apps... scroll down in landscape and 10 more load and so on.

Open market, click games and try.

I use appbrain which doesn't have this problem.

I got you. I think we're both playing the same song, but on different pages. I'm talking about apps (like angry birds) that should show up when you search for them, but don't. Most likely due to the fact that the Nook isn't supposed to have them, and the root process disregards that and spoofs a device within the code to gain access. If I knew more about getting in, changing those lines, and NOT f'ing the thing up, I would. But as it were, I need someone more practiced than I to hold my hand through the process. :)
